What is really sad is that Riley let one 5th place tie derail her.
She was actually pretty successful as a college swimmer, with several awards, records, and top finishes.
She has a health sciences degree and originally planed to be a Dentist until she tied with a trans person in a race. Her inability to accept a 5th place finish, which is what she would have still had if the trans swimmer had been disqualified, sent her down this road of trying to legally define women based on her interpretation and define trans participation in sports the way zen would.
It's sad how a promising future could be so derailed by one 5th place tie.
Her entire life is now defined by a 5th place tie in a race that everyone would have forgotten about had she just became a dentist.
