Well, according to the Supreme Court, it's not, or not necessarily. One of the more mystifying rulings from last term (or the term before). Giving a public official money as "appreciation" after the bribed act does not count as bribery and is not covered under federal bribery statutes. It was a great day for all mobsters.
And civil defendants with political objectives in case filed against them by Donald Trump.

Paramount in Settlement Talks With Trump Over ‘60 Minutes’ Lawsuit

A settlement, if reached, would be an extraordinary concession by a major U.S. media company to a sitting president.

“… Shari Redstone, Paramount’s controlling shareholder, strongly supports the effort to settle, according to two people with knowledge of her thinking. Ms. Redstone stands to clear billions of dollars on the sale of Paramount, the media empire founded by her father Sumner Redstone, in a deal with Skydance, an entertainment company backed by the billionaire Larry Ellison and run by his son David.

… A settlement would be an extraordinary concession by a major U.S. media company to a sitting president, especially in a case in which there is no evidence that the network got facts wrong or damaged the plaintiff’s reputation.

It could also cause an uproar within CBS News and among the “60 Minutes” staff. Journalists at the network have expressed deep concern about the notion of their parent company settling litigation that they consider tantamount to a politician’s standard-issue gripes about a news organization’s editorial judgment, according to several people familiar with internal discussions.

Edward Paltzik, Mr. Trump’s lawyer on the case, wrote in a statement on Thursday: “Real accountability for CBS and Paramount will ensure that the president is compensated for the harm done to him, and will deter the Fake News from further distorting the facts to advance a partisan agenda. President Trump looks forward to seeing this case through to a just conclusion.” …”

Of course. Bully and intimidate all non-right wing media sources into either becoming more pro-Trump, or at least stay silent about him. It's literally the Viktor Orban playbook he used so successfully against the media in Hungary. But there's nothing to worry about concerning Trump 2.0, right, Trumpers?
I am not sure whst concessions you think are you going to get out of the board Trump trolls. they WANT this to happen. Anything they said previous was just to troll you into a response.

I guess they will give just about anyone a White House press pass these days ? Or Jones is lying, which is usually the best first assumption.

You really are an irredeemable piece of shit. We've got Elon Musk wilding through the US payment system, making ridiculous accusations that USAID created Covid, and you're worried about media coverage of Joe Biden?

Get. The. Fuck. Out. Of. Here.

It's okay to have multiple things going on at once.

By the way, it's a big deal that the media, presumably because of the fear/hatred of Trump, shirks their responsibilities.

"Freedom of the press! Freedom of the press!"

Ok. Do your job.

A push to remove some news outlets from the Pentagon may be symbolic, but fears that Trump would stifle the media are coming to fruition.

When Donald Trump was elected president for the second time last November, there were concerns that he would “go after” the media. In other words, he would do what he could to stifle media that he felt aggrieved him in the past or would cover him aggressively in the future. The press plays an absolutely essential role in any true democracy, but Trump wants to control the media, even if it’s through fear, intimidation or simply treating them unjustly.

Those fears are coming to fruition.

I stated on here several times last year that the press better look out, or there won't be a "free press" anymore.

I don't see an issue with rotating news network who are onsite at the Pentagon. I'd prefer OAN not be one of them.

Biden to the Times. (in my mind). How do you like me now?

Those fuckers sowed the wind. Now they can do some reaping.

Do you see an issue with the four specific networks that were booted out being replaced by those four coming in?

I fear that NPR's days are numbered.
I would say I'm probably more curious than concerned. I can't imagine any dire consequences unless one of the outlets starts revealing secrets.

You kick out NBC for OAN and you don’t see an issue with that?
NBC?
John Chancellor? David Brinkley? Brian Williams? The Bonanza Network?
You’re probably much too young…
Curt Gowdy? Jane Pauley?
That broadcast network has been a truth telling staple for almost 100 years (Nov. 1926) and has been a fixture at the Pentagon for decades…
Just like Walter Cronkite and “that’s the way it is” CBS…

And you’re gonna sit there and say there’s no issue with pulling the plug on them and replacing with OAN, Newsmax, et.al.?

Nobody here thinks you’ve got anything serious to add on any subject, but this just confirms it.
