Yea, it’s Fox but it is being reported everywhere. Meta was pressured to limit free speech on Covid and the Hunter laptop stories (which were true and not Russian disinformation). It was election interference!!?? Just curious of everyone’s thoughts here.

Hmmm. I could have sworn Trump was president in 2020. I guess Biden got in a Time Machine to bury the Hunter story.
 
1) In a public health crisis, I give the government some leeway on cracking down on misinformation. The pandemic was an evolving crisis...information changed as we went along and knew more about the situation.

2) did anyone ask Zuckerberg how much money Facebook made off Russian disinformation in the 2016 election cycle? They happily took the money from foreign accounts that were spreading all sorts of info. The incident in 2020 was an overcorrection to 2016 when its very clear the Russians were spreading misinformation.

3) I really wish Zuck would reach down and find his balls. He comes across as such a wimp.

what are the chances this dude returns to this thread to own up to falling for that? Wild to see how many people don't make the connection that Trump was president in 2020 when this occurred. Also R's have had Hunter's laptop for years now...still waiting for the bombshell info to come from it outside of an email referencing "the big guy" and some drug use/naked photos.
 
"pressured", but with what, dirty looks? There obviously was no threat or Zuck would have stated threat.

He told Jordan that in 2021, "senior officials" from the Biden administration and White House "repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire."

Exactly. Here’s what Zuck said: "Ultimately, it was our decision whether or not to take content down, and we own our decisions, including COVID-19-related changes we made to our enforcement… I believe the government pressure was wrong…”

And Zuck can “believe” anything he wants to believe. It’s a free country. And I have a right to “believe” that Zuck is a tool, and that the Government - during the worst Pandemic in over a century killing over 7 million people - has the right to attempt to reign in BS social media sites which were promulgating disinformation about said Pandemic.

Not sure about our arsehole house trumpy, but screw him too if he - along with Zuck - has an issue about what our government did or didn’t do in acting on how best to help the general public not to become one of those 7 million victims.

I'll go with zero. Hopefully they use this as a moment to reflect on their news sources and question why said sources lie to them about things so easily disproven. Also the "yeah it's fox but it's being reported everywhere" where is everywhere? Because any other place these people get their news makes fox news look almost legitimate.
 
I'm okay with requesting Zuck censor the covid-19 misinformation. I'm not okay with the president of the United States or members of his administration pressuring him to take down negative political information like the Hunter laptop stuff. To me, those are two completely different issues.
 
When people pressure me to do something I don't want to do, I generally just tell them to fuck right off. Maybe when you're a bazillionaire, you lose the testicular fortitude to do so, I don't know, but it seems like a weird thing for him to whine about 4 years later regardless.
 
This letter and stories about it were already posted in other threads, so FTR the info was already being discussed by some on this board. In any event, per the letter the Biden laptop thing was a brief time due to Trump Admin officials warning it might be Russian disinfo. Zuck says they did their own fact check and discontinued efforts to limit info about it but he regrets doing that much.

So just to be clear if I start a thead about Heelscape being a very shitty Russian Bot and because someone decided to "boside" his bullshit we're gonna let him roll/troll willy/nilly? IMHO the dude is distracting not discussing and perhaps I'm wrong and I know I can ignore him. That said as long as I breathe I can not ignore such blatant bullshit. But hey maybe that's just me.

Well Trump was president when the Hunter laptop story broke and was supposedly "suppressed," so I guess kudos for criticizing Trump.
 
Why did Donald Trump suppress pictures of Hunter's large, fat dong? What was he trying to hide? What did he know, and when did he know it?
