During the televised descent, about 5:06 PDT, the camera switched to a black and white (infared?) images and there were sparks around the capsule. Anyone have any idea what that was?
 
674,000 miles traveled round trip. For reference, the circumference of the earth at the equator is about 25,000 miles.

At one point it was "powering down" the capsule
I have no clue what that means , but it seems there was some "electricity" that had to let shut off?
From there I think it was super-duper safety step by step precautions
 
In 1997 I guess I went to the 25th anniversary of Chapel Hill High School (which i did not go to but a lot of folks there thought I did-long story) So I talk with Alex-forget his last name but I think his grandparents were Eastern European Jewish immigrants.
ME:"So Alex I heard you work at NASA-like what do you do at"
Alex: " I have spent my entire career calculating space shot trajectories "
