"The first ballots in the nation are scheduled to start going out Friday in North Carolina, but that could be delayed after a judge ordered a temporary pause on ballot distribution.

Kennedy, who dropped out of the race last month and endorsed former President Donald Trump, then challenged that decision in court.

Wake County Superior Court Judge Rebecca Holt denied the former candidate’s request Thursday but also ordered a 24-hour pause to allow Kennedy to appeal.

Holt found that rejecting Kennedy’s request would lead to “minimal” harm to him but that removing his name would be a significant burden for elections officials.

“The court can find no practical, personal or pecuniary harm to the plaintiff should his name remain on the ballot,” Holt said. “The defendant, however, would have to reprint the ballots at considerable cost and effort and will likely find themselves in violation of the state mandated deadline for distributing absentee ballots.”

After the hearing, Paul Cox, the general counsel for the state elections board, instructed counties to not send ballots out Friday morning.

The ruling came in response to a request from former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to remove his name from the ballot. ..."

Total B.S. and simply another "reason" trump will claim election fraud or whatever. Whether or not Jr's name is removed or not... If it stays on the ballot trump complains fraud! If ballots are delayed, name removed, trump: fraud! The plain and simple fact this is even a "thing" gives team trump ammo to not certify votes in NC -

They dont have as much power in NC to be as dirty as they could in GA

I believe the NC mail-in ballots favored Biden in the last election. But that may have been an anomaly because there was a substantial increase in the number of mail-in ballots due to Covid. And those who preferred to mail in their ballots due to concerns over Covid were probably mostly Biden voters.

But it would be glorious if it did end up hurting Trump since effort to get RFK Jr. on the ballot in the first place was to try to pull votes away from Biden and/or Harris. And once it became clear that was backfiring, they wanted him off the ballot. And here we are.

Military voters (and expats like me) can get their ballots by email, and vote online. It'll still be a delay, but it is not dependent on the postal service for many of us.

Not to mention that RFK Jr.'s a wholesale womanizer who once had extramarital affairs or hookups with 37 women in one year (and according to friends sent them nude photos of the women he slept with), which led to the end of his marriage in 2010 and led his ex-wife to commit suicide in 2012, and that he's all but admitted to having sexually assaulted one of his kid's babysitters. That's a man who is really concerned about women's health, I tell you what.
