NCFC Soccer is dissolving at the end of the season

This is the professional men's team that plays in Cary. They are hoping to reform as a new franchise in the brand new USL Division One. To get a franchise, they will need to get a deal for a new stadium as the current one isn't big enough.

This new league is hoping to compete head to head with MLS and provide a relegation and promotion system in 2028.

North Carolina FC is applying to join the United Soccer League's new Division One league. The move means the club won't play in the USL's Championship league after 2025 and will suspend operations in 2026 and 2027.

If they can get the money for a few big players, with the World Cup bump, and a promotion/relegation system, I think the league can get a decent TV deal.

Not sure if the local team can get a stadium deal. They tried a few years back and Raleigh didn't want to pony up the money. As a tax payer, I appreciate that. The team could probably play at one of the local Universities but then I'm not sure if the economics work.
