Interesting timing for Bibi to fire Gallant …

“… The move on Tuesday came after months of public disagreement between the two over the course of the war. Netanyahu said he was firing Gallant due to a breakdown in trust and gaps in positions between them. …

Gallant has publicly challenged Netanyahu’s failure to decide on a plan for Gaza’s long-term governance and for not prioritizing a deal to release Israeli and other hostages held in Gaza. …”

Gallant has been the key Biden Administration ally in the Netanyahu government…

Can someone fire Netanyahu?
Israelis are as hopelessly split as USA has been — they’ve failed to resolve it in multiple elections and with Trump re-elected (need some word for elected after a gap) I imagine Bibi’s hand is strengthened.

If the Palestinians and Lebanese have thought Israel was operating with a heavy hand when Biden was POTUS…….

Oh, they won’t even have to wait. This country is about to enter a socioeconomic fever dream of indeterminant years (I predict decades). Even lame duck Biden et al. won’t have the capacity to curb bibi’s impulses. Gaza is about to go from a humanitarian catastrophe with signs of genocide to outright obliteration. Ttump wasn’t kidding about his interest in the coastline - because Trump doesn’t kid, he reveals.
