Lets be realistic...odds are BB will ride out of CH with a ton of bank while UNC looks foolish like a&m with jimbo and others alike with these huge contracts and buy outs. It is UNC football after all. Most fans deal 100% on emotions like an 8 yr old so I dont expect anything other than excitement and giddiness over a new hire...esp one billed as a huge commitment hire.

Gonna take a lot more than $ to change our football program....lots more. I simply dont think BB will care enough to do what it takes.....all things considered.

I really don't know what to think of the hire other than to agree with the "boom or bust" concept. There's no middle ground here. What I do not understand is where the money comes from. That part I just do not "get". I know you have to spend money to make money and it could turn out to be a fantastic investment. I'm not questioning any of that...but where? What's the source? It's an incredible amount of money to just suddenly throw at football.

I'm also worried about how it might impact our coaches, etc in other programs. We are pretty underfunded across the board. It likely won't take long for them all to start being really questioning of the discrepancy.

I agree with the part about where the money is coming from and personally I believe that's the bigger story here. We recently renamed the football field for a single $20 million donation. Now we're going to provide $20 million every year in NIL in addition to paying $10 million to BB plus all the other coaches on the staff? That's one serious step up in dollars, so who is providing it? The AD doesn't have that kind of money to throw around.

John Cherry once told me on the golf course that UNC had enough and would always have enough money to do whatever it pleased to do.

Of course they always poor-mouthed the exact opposite to keep the funds flowing in. Its just another scam and hustle to get into our pockets.

How are the Republicans in Raleigh - who favor NCState much more than UNC - going to react? The Board of Governors for the UNC University system? Somebody said a couple of weeks ago to look for lolstate to fire their coach now that Mack has been canned. No way the PTB in Rawlee allow UNC to get "a leg up" on all of this stuff. Look for Bill Cowher or Jimmy Jones to come out of the broadcast booth and sign on at State - using my tax dollars to buy him. They'll probably shuffle some Public School funds to pay his contract.

More attention, more interest, more money.
