As I recall the Panthers made the palyoffs one year by winning their division -with a losing record
 
Panthers losses to New Orleans and Arizona really hurt - both of those teams have been officially eliminated from the playoffs. Only 3 teams in the NFC have been eliminated - and those are 2 of them. Hard to square those two losses with wins against top level LA and Green Bay (at Lambeau no less)

7-8-1 in 2014. The division title came down to the last game of the regular season vs. Atlanta (@ ATL). Winner took the division title. Panthers destroyed Atlanta 34-3. That was a fun game. I watched it at a bar right by house that probably brings in the most hardcore Panthers fans in Charlotte and is not welcoming to fans of other teams.

In fairness, Drake didn't play that well his sophomore season. I mean, he was a good player but hardly a star. Missed a lot of throws, made some bad decisions.
