Offer to take group photo?

There is a series of, what I think are funny, ads on TV for Progressive Insurance warning people to stop acting like their parents. Two things first: 1) I like these ads and think they are funny. 2) I am the age of the parents in this ad, not the age of the persons the Progressive spokesman is talking to. A recent ad showing parential behavior folks should avoid is: offering to a group of people posing for a photo to take the photo so everyone can be in it. A) Is this wrong? B) I do this all the time. About a third of the time my offer is politely declined. The other two-thirds of the time I "think" the offer is enthsiastically accepted.

Questions for the Board:
i. Am I delusional?
ii. Should I just mind my own business and let a priceless opportunity for everyone to be in the photo just slip away "like tears in the rain"?
iii. Are there any cues I should know about but am currently oblivious to about when my offers to take a group photo of strangers is appropriate and when it is not?

And, no, I don't think the "wrong" behavior is to offer. The "wrong" behavior I think they are lampooning is turning the whole thing into a big production that's all about you.

I think offering to take the picture is an unambiguous good. Then again, I'm in my upper 50s so take that with a grain of salt.

Love those ads too... and I am just above the age of Dr. Rick's "patients", so yeah, already morphed into my parents!

I too offer to take a group photo, but usually only if it seems like someone wants the help. Young folks snapping selfies every 20 secs do not want any interaction, so have learned to leave those folks be.

the elevator one is hilarous. I also like the grill one

also, amazon has a book out by this guy and it's funny AF

My GF would say I am inflicted with talking to strangers ,especially folks with infants , toddlers

On the whole, I think the ads are funny.

I'm not sure what it says about me, but I think a couple of the things he warns his patients not to do is poor advice.

Also, this is the best one...

"Blue!"

We all see it...

BLUE... AHAHAHAHAHA!!!

keep offering the folks with polaroids and single-use like these and your acceptance rate till stay just fine.

Sadly, when I looked the book up on Amazon, the prices start at $60 and go up from there.
IIRC, it was free for Kindle Unlimited - I know I didn't pay for it. You can get a free trial for KU, get it on Kindle, read it (it's a super fast read), return it, then cancel the trial so you're not charged for the subscription.
