I'll say it again - all these people criticizing the Harris campaign should defend Trump's campaign for the past three weeks. He was practically doing everything he could to not get elected, and yet people - and this time an apparent popular vote majority - voted for him anyway. If Trump does win a majority of the popular vote, what could Harris have done to win over people who saw Trump's campaign and thought that he was in any way the best candidate? It's mind boggling, no matter what anyone says about inflation or the economy.

This. His campaign was almost a caricature of itself. He did NOTHING right these last three weeks… and he won anyway.

Someone explain how trump intends to bring milk down from $3.99 to $1.99 and if it doesn’t do I get to complain and blame him?
No worries. He’ll just blame it on the Dems, and despite controlling both chambers of Congress, 49% of the country will believe him. 48% won’t but the other 3% will be so busy arguing with themselves it won’t matter.

You’ve got no idea what a progressive would do in a general election because we haven’t had one.

I’m so fucking sick of liberals thinking they know everything about what the general electorate wants when we haven’t had a progressive populist candidate in the general election in my lifetime. Meanwhile a progressive populist came within a hair of knocking off an incumbent Republican in a ruby red state.
Nothing matters when everything is a lie.

Someone told me today that they believed that Kamala would take people’s houses.

Social media and the oligarchs have destroyed this country. They simply want what’s best for themselves and everyone else just cheers and gives it to them.

There’s absolutely 0 way for you to know that. Her whole strategy was predicated on suburban voters and it didn’t work. Instead she lost people in the base that she could’ve turned out. She chose to kiss and hug Liz Cheney instead.

Y’all can’t seriously think there is nothing Harris could’ve done to win this campaign. Look at the numbers.
They stayed in their mom's basement on their computers, living their incel lives. I don't think even the Young Turks and a progressive agendae could have motivated them.

White women didn't get the job done. Kamala is too brown and "uppity."

I don’t even know what point you’re trying to make here.

Let me add. If the numbers show that young people didn’t get out and vote, then shame on them. And at that point they can stop talking about how boomers ruined the country. Everyone had a stake in this.

In 2020 Jared had messages sent in Spanish on whatsapp to Latinos that blacks were coming to take their jobs and rape their daughters - in Texas and FL.

I think America itself has to take part of the blame. We're Frankenstein and Trump is The Monster.

Amen.

The fact that I knew a lot of liberals on the board would react to a Trump win in this way is telling. Heads in the sand. Blaming everyone but the Democratic Party and the Harris campaign.

There’s blame to go around, but y’all are blind if you think Harris and the party shares no percentage of the blame for this outcome.

2016 wasn’t about the economy at all, so I don’t think that point is relevant.
Absolutely it was. He was all about the slow recovery and the fake growth/employment numbers. Called it the worst economy in history. Same as now. And it was nonsense. But there is an insidious belief that everyone in this country is a victim and should be rich. And he taps into that nonsense and total idiots believe it.

Sounds like a force that the Democrats should try to tap into if it’s that’s strong.

What could they have done different? There is no competing against Facebook and twitter.
