Biden and Hilary beat Bernie in rigged primaries.

Bernie 2016 and MAGA movement would’ve been stopped before it began
This to me is categorically silly. I know that I would never vote for Bernie Sanders for POTUS....even against Donald Trump.

I suspect the story will be that low propensity voters came out and voted for Trump, and it was always about the economy (stupid). And not the greater economy - low propensity voters don’t care about the stock market or the federal unemployment rate or GDP. They care about what’s in their bank account at the end of the month.

They are going to in for a surprise when tariffs make everything more expensive

But binary politics is reality here on Earth 1. If a third party wants to be viable, it has to start at the ground level and build. You don't get to fail up unless you're trump.

Binary politics are reality because people decide it must be. Free your mind, and the rest will follow.

The Republican cowards who’ve been noticeably absent this forum who have shown up tonight to gloat can all go fuck themselves.

100% why Trump won. Walk in a grocery store, buy a car, pay a utility and tell me it doesn't hurt. Whether its governments fault or not prices are higher and people vote with heir pocket books

In hindsight does anyone else wish Trump had just won reelection in 2020? At least that way we'd be done with him at this point (assuming he didn't go full dictator). He'd also take some of the blame for everything that Covid wrought instead of somehow shifting all of the blame elsewhere. Now we'll be going on well over a decade with him at the forefront of everything when this is all said and done.

100%

Biden winning and then refusing to be a1 tell president really screwed things

“Here’s what we know — is that we really don’t know anything, and that we’re going to come out of this election. We’re going to make all kind of pronouncements about what this country is and what this world is and the truth is, we’re not really going to know shit,” Stewart said. “We’re going to make is seem like this is the finality of our civilization… we’re all going to to have to wake up tomorrow morning and work like hell to move the world to the place that we prefer it to be, and i just want to point out as a matter of perspective , that the lessons of our pundits — that our pundits take aways from these results that they will pronounce with certainty will be wrong. And we have to remember that.”

“But this isn’t the end! I promise you, this is not the end, and we have to regroup and we have to continue to fight and continue to work day in and day out to create the better society for our children, for this world, for this country that we know is possible.”

- Jon Stewart (Election 2024)

I really don’t think Harris lost this election. Trump won it. Harris made no major errors. No big mistakes on her part.

At the end of the day the average American decided their life was better from 2016-2020 than it was from 2020-2024.

Lots of time left to debrief exactly what happened. Lots of reshuffling of demographics. Republicans truly building a working class coalition of all races.
People are really dumb then. We couldn’t leave our houses in 2020 and you couldn’t attend football games due to trumps mismanagement and divisiveness. And the economy was wrecked from 21-22 but that was trumps mishandling of Covid. People are just dumb.

I have deleted all social media. I have no desire to play nice with these people and pretend we have a difference of opinion on policy. We have a difference of opinion on the fundamental rights of human beings and the lenses in which we view them.

This is still a very racist bigoted country, and we are no longer the envy of the world… I’m not sure we ever were.

I love that man. As usual, he is right.
