Photos you’ve taken

Our first dog and beloved friend, Wickie. Bought shortly after out marriage, almost 40 years ago. He was with us through the births of all three of our children and is buried in the back yard after many happy years. My last dog, Zephyr, was descended from his line. Zephyr died battling epileptic seizures. I eventually had to take him to be put down. Someday I may have the heart to get another keeshond.

Photo of one of the over 400 year old hard wood trees in the Joyce Kilner Memorial Forest. Believed to be the oldest trees in Western North Carolina. So old, that when the Smokey Mountains were being clear cut, the loggers skipped this patch, out of respect. I grew up believing these were the oldest trees in North Carolina. But a few years ago in the Three Sisters Swamp on the Black River in Eastern NC, several cypress trees were found to be over 2,600 years old. When those "old" trees at Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest were just sprouted saplings, the Three Sisters Swamp cypress trees were over 2,200 years old. These old cypress trees only survived because their part of the Three Sisters Swamp was so difficult to log.

DUDE! What was a ray of sunshine hitting! This better not be one of those "For the rest of the story, enter your credit card info below" type of internet scam.
No scam, just a lucky picture. I took 5 or 6 and this one caught the sun ray the best.
