It's one frickin' person. One person in a country of 330 million people. We have loads of homegrown murderers as well. LOTS.

Just an one off example, look at this guy. White and American! Who let him [Bryan Christopher Kohberger] do that?! Bet it was Biden! Amirite?

Please don't dismiss this event. I'll give you a chance to see there's a difference in what you're trying to explain. I'll give a little help. One was a govt program that brought unvetted individuals into the country.

I'm dismissing this event.

You're bad at math. Immigrants reduce crime rates in this country, even if they on occasion do awful things.

Also, did this guy have a criminal record? This isn't Minority Report. You can't pre-vet crimes.

I wonder if this is worthy of its own thread. This is HUGE, SHOCKING news, and might get buried on a daily-updates thread.
Happy for any of you guys to start a new thread from any of the news in the current events thread.

For now I am trying not to be the one starting too many the new threads so the thread topics are more diverse/democratic.

You're doing great!

A victory for shell companies

The law was passed in 2019, when Trump signed and supported it (the related Biden-era rule has been held up in court). But times change and requiring disclosure to the government of who exercises substantial control over a U.S. small business is apparently asking too much.

The goal is transparency of control of an entity for law enforcement purposes to fight money laundering. Most big businesses are exempt — this was about nested shell companies that obscure ownership and control of closely held companies.
