Post election violence

I think if Trump loses we're going to have a lot of his supporters looking at each other and saying ,"You go first." There will be some, I'm sure but this time, nobody is paving their way. In reality, Biden has the whip hand, a reason to be pissed off and, thanks to SCOTUS, no particular restraint on what he does.

If Trump loses, I expect him to fold like a cheap suit when the court cases start. If he ever actually goes to jail, they better put him on suicide watch.

I’d be a whole lot more concerned if it was a situation where we had to force Trump out of the WH. Harris is already there so if/when she’s certified, there would have to be another stupid coup attempt.

If Trump loses he is not going to concede. It will not happen and he will scream they cheated.

No doubt but the the belief in him as destined to be president will be shaken when it becomes clear it's not happening. I just don't see massive numbers of them actually putting their ass on the line. There can be some serious local outbreaks that could get really bad. but they have no leadership, organization and especially logistics. A few doses of reality like introducing them to real military grade weapons en masse might get their attention.
 
I went and scheduled a long weekend trip that requires a plane ride… many months ago and the election didn’t even cross my mind. It has now.
 


The Barton guy pretty much predicted what would happen post-election 2020 - or at least the type of chaos. So this is a very reassuring thing in terms of final outcome of the election process.

Less chaos can only help quicken the acceptance phase of grief.

If Trump wins there won’t be any significant violence. There may be some protests and some anarchist type organizations might co-opt those protests but the violence would be very limited.

If Harris wins it could get ugly.
 
I understand the concern but I think these fears have generally been overblown in the past. Let's not overly stress ourselves out about it until it comes to pass.
 
I would not be surprised if there are protests in the streets if either side loses a close election. But only one side would most likely show up armed. And in those cases, I hope local police and, if necessary, the National Guard, also show up as a strong deterrent.

Were they overblown on 1/6?

People on the old ZZLP were talking about how it would be wise for counter protesters to stay away from DC that day so we did expect some violence but nothing close to the chaos that erupted.

Thanks goodness the liberals heeded the advice and stayed away or things could have been really bad for them.
 
If Trump wins, there will be a general strike to warn him of going too extreme in office, but it will be to no avail.

If Kamala wins, unless it's definitive, the right will lose their minds and will never concede. Expect violence from them in many places.
 
I'm thinking Gravy Seal team and the rest will run back under the rocks and cabinets that they crawled out of and tried to stand on their back legs. I saw Metamorphosis in Derm when Mikhail Baryshnikov turned into a cockroach! Yeah it was in 1989 but ever since Trump became a thing I've envisioned his supporters as cockroaches and hopefully they will disappear in the same manner as they appeared.
 
One big difference:

Trump will not be in control of the National Guard or the military. Any uprising could be put down quickly and if Harris wins, there is no way in hell any of those idiots are getting near the Capitol on electoral count day.
 
In the event of a close election, which it will be, I fear violence at ballot counting locations which are taking “too long” to finalize their tallies……..especially in urban areas in PA, MI, WI, GA, AZ, and NV.
