I know we have some people out on the west coast - so in 2028 we are planning on taking a trip to Disneyland but I also know the Olympics are scheduled for LA in July 2028 - we are thinking of going in early to mid June of that year - mainly stay in Anaheim including flying into Orange county and most of our time would be spent around Disneyland with a day at Knott's Berry farm and my daughter has expressed interest in going to the Griffith Observatory which I do know is in LA - so my question is are we insane to even be planning this trip? Accomodations are not an issue mainly just airfare

I have no inside knowledge here, but it might be a good time to go to Disney as long as you get your plane tickets early and don't have to worry about where to stay as the Olympics crowds might cut down on the Disney crowds.

The trip sounds fun... LA is not too far for a day trip but maybe split it up with some LA and OC.

Be aware that the 2028 Olympics will be here... you certainly want to avoid that.

I don't know that I would stay in Anaheim that long... even if he wanted to be close their parts of Orange County closer to the beach and not far from Disney if your family like those sorts of things.

Oh we are big into Disney - we are going because we love Disneyland - on other trips to California we have spent some time in Laguna Beach and LA - we just worry with the Olympics that trying to do a bunch of stuff around LA could be really crazy

I can’t imagine there will be much Olympics problems a month before the actual Olympics. Just the every day traffic, which is Olympic level in any other city.

Knotts Berry is pretty blah (although it is where the boysenberry was created) and Griffith Observatory is pretty blah, too, but it has a great view and does have the Rebel Without a Cause thing going for it. You could also swing by the Hollywood sign for your daughter’s Instagram shots. If I were going to stay in Anaheim, I’d want to stay at the Grand Californian, but not sure if that is within the budget. But it is nice to walk straight into California Adventure and a short walk to Disney.
