RIP Bill Moyers

Great man!

After passage of the Civil Rights Act, LBJ, according to Moyers, said, “Well, I think we may have lost the South for your lifetime and mine.”

Let’s hope LBJ was correct and the South being solid Trumplican ends with the death of Bill Moyers.

Damn! That's a big loss. He was good friends with my divinity school advisor at Wake Forest, Dr. James Dunn, and was close to several of the founding faculty of Wake Div. He provided retirement remarks when Dr. Dunn retired as head of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty in the late 90s. I'm sure I've posted it before, but here is a link to a very relevant interview he did with Dr. Dunn some years back.

Also highly recommend his interview of Elie Wiesel. We watched that one in theology class.

I went to school with his son (Cope Moyers), who battled an addiction to alcohol. He's written extensively on the subject.
