This is basically the same deluded nonsense of his ignorant Covid comment. Of course, he had many of those. But I thought of this one....

"Soon it will be much warmer and the coronavirus will just go away. It will be gone in two weeks."
This is precisely a replay of his COVID fiasco. Nonsense, misdirection, and straight up lies. More concern about the impact on the stock market than the impact on people.

I've been long convinced that Jon Stewart's timing of his initial retirement is part of the reason we had Trump to begin with.

Nobody else in media was so well positioned to point out just what an absolute shit show Trump was. None of the other media understood how to deal with him. And no one else in the media had the level of trust that Stewart had at that time.

I still believe that we desperately needed Jon Stewart's inside and commentary at that critical juncture, and the fact that we did not have it is part of why we are where we are.

Did you guys know that the Boss is a boring dried up loser ?

Everything he does just makes things even worse. He needs to be impeached. He is not mentally fit to be President
Except that he won't be, because his party is a cult and there is simply no way to get enough Republican Senators on board to remove him. Even if the Democrats win back the House and impeach him they won't get enough GOP Senators (probably 15 to 18) to vote to convict and remove him. All Republican pols care about is angering their MAGA base, which still loves him. They don't give a shit about anybody else.

Having said that, he may finally be reaching the Herbert Hoover stage of communication. Early on in the Great Depression Hoover kept giving speeches saying that everything was fine (cue the burning house meme), that the economy was basically sound, and that "prosperity was just around the corner", but as things steadily got worse people just stopped believing him and in fact after some of his speeches there were actually runs on banks, so his aides told him to stop talking. I doubt any of Trump's minions will have the guts to tell him that, but it seems clear that we've reached the point at which nobody outside the cult believes a word he says about this stupid war or the economy or anything else, really.

If enough Pubs who aren't part of the MAGA cult would speak up and say they want him impeached it could happen.

Those Pubs have mostly been driven out of the party as RINOs and have no influence in the party anymore. If you dare to criticize Dear Leader they all turn on you. Look at Tillis. He's been somewhat critical of Trump and is retiring this year rather than face the wrath of his NC MAGA base.

Puts a chill on the, “you shouldn’t care what he says,” talking point.

Because since election, what he has said has lead to:
Gas prices rising
Mortgage Rates remaining elevated
Stock market tanking
Trading partners to look to do business elsewhere
Alienating our allies to the point that they don’t want to “help us” (Trump’s words)
Eroding confidence in our elections
And so much more negative consequences

Chief Justice John Roberts after the idiotic argument that a pregnant mother around the planet is just a plane ride away from birthing a US citizen.

"Well, it's a new era. It's the same Constitution."

Trump leaves and whines on Truth Social:

"We (US) are the only country STUPID enough to grant birthright citizenship."

That's right - Trump called America stupid.

Then gave that deranged, addled speech last night.

Or as Callarouser refers to it: "a perfect world"
