Just so he can enact executive orders and bypass Congress on everything.

And the GOP Congress just sits there while he strips away their oversight and purview on everything.
 
The executive order thing has gotten totally out of control the last few administrations but Trump has taken it to such a level that Congress needs to act. We do not have a king. You can’t just say everything requires an executive order.
 
Agree. Biden signed 162 in four years; Trump has signed 151 in 2025 so far. 162 is too many, but damn, 151?
 
There's nothing wrong with executive orders. Trump can issue a thousand if he wants. They still don't really do anything.

  • Grover Cleveland 1.0 was the next to hit triple figures, 113. No one has been below 140 since. That was Grover Cleveland 2.0; so he did that in 4 years.

  • Wilson hit 1,803.
  • Hoover issued an impressive 1,003 in 4 years
  • FDR holds the record, 3,725 in just over 12 years in office. He also holds the single term mark at 1,707.
  • Ike issued a relative paltry 484.
  • JFK - 214
  • LBJ - 325
  • Nixon - 346; 247 in his first term
  • Ford - 169
  • Carter - 320
  • Reagan 381
  • George H. W. Bush - 166
  • Clinton - 384

Just look at the equal time period. He's signed 43 more executive orders in the first 100 days than Roosevelt whose second. A full 100 more that Biden.

And he has signed the fewest number of bills into law, ripping that distinction away from Bush 2.

Actually, we currently do not have a viable Congress. I, an acknowledged dimwit, do not understand why the constitutional framers did not better visualize the potential danger of a rogue executive branch. If Trump were to declare himself the “one and only”, there is little the other two branches could do to stop him.
 
My favorite is declaring we have been “invaded” by immigrants to justify invoking the Alien Enemies Act and attempt to suspend habeas corpus. The fantasies the Heritage Foundation can cook up would be hilarious if they weren’t so fucking dangerous.

This is clearly untrue.

People have lost their jobs in droves
We are arresting and deporting grad students for nothing other than being 'other'
Countries are issuing warning about travel to the US and to use a burner phone if they do
Sending immigrants to maximum security prisons in another country without any oversight or burden of proof.
We are repatriating white South Africans due to a non existent genocide
Decimating research grants and operational funds for our greatest institutes of higher learning
Imposing 'tariffs' with every country on earth except Russia and north Korea.
Scouring out every government website and grant of anything that remotely sounds like DEI including my daughters statewide grant for Nevada because it referred to female mosquitoes even though they are the only ones that actually are a vector of disease.
Transgenders are going into hiding and scrubbing their social media accounts and losing their ability to serve in the my military.

Don't really do anything?
