What is the goal for Democrats in the new Congress for this year?

Option #1: Every Democrat vote no to whatever the GOP wants to do? Or,

Option#2: Strike a deal on some things. It's unlikely that the Republicans, after going thru some pain will be able to pass much, especially the budget or Debt Ceiling in March.

I can't see the Democrats going along with anything other then something that explodes the deficit. If history is any guide, the Republicans won't ask and Democrats won't come to their rescue till pretty late in the game.

Or, will this play out some other way?

Explodes the deficit? Like Republican tax cuts?
That's one question I have! Just how much of the Trump tax cuts will Democrats let them keep and vote for it?

I suppose there is an option #3. Gamble that there is no way that the Republicans can pass anything and let the tax cuts expire.

If the deficit is a concern (like all those Republican “Freedom Caucus” deficit hawks) the Trump tax cuts should absolutely be allowed to expire. But they really don’t give a shit about the deficit as long as they give their contributors their tax cuts. They are more than happy to explode the deficit as they steal from the middle class to give to the super wealthy.
