I was worried when I woke up in the middle of the night and we were dry slotting again but a nice band just formed over Orange and we are over a half inch.

It's STUNNING how overnight the yard looks so much better.

I am not a farmer
I don't work at a Metro reservoir
My little .48 acre lot is appreciative

Wasn’t there supposed to be some big change in the weather pattern right about now that portended more rain? We struck out yesterday, and it looks like the chances for rain over the next few days have vanished like a fart in the wind.

This sucks.

It's actually stunning to see how fast everything is back to dry. All the vegetation just sucked it right up.

and yeah no chances for a week and next week is gonna be hot. Hopefully the consistent chances starting later part of next week come true

Chimney Rock & Bat Cave, two communities that were hammered and nearly wiped out by Hurricane Helene, were just getting back on their feet when they experienced a severe flash flood last night - something like 5 or 6 inches of rain fell in just a few hours. Terrible news, especially as the summer tourist season is just starting and these folks really need a comeback year. Governor Stein was in the area just recently to reopen and rededicate Lake Lure and the Chimney Rock area for business, and to celebrate the rebuilding effort. That area just can't seem to catch a break.

We’ve had water use restrictions here in Charlotte for the past several weeks now due to the drought. It was dumping down rain for much of the afternoon and early evening today. I drove by a house in the early evening while it was dumping down rain (and had been for a couple hours), and its sprinkler system was on with four different sprinklers watering the lawn.
