* Just now watching Ken Burns’ documentary on Prohibition and recognizing the parallels between Al Capone, Herbert Hoover and Donald J. Trump. For all the comparisons between Trump and Hitler - stark though they may be - there is a more direct line to be drawn between Trump and Capone and also Trump and Hoover.
If you haven’t seen the Burns’ documentary, I can commend that to you. On PBS. A history lesson with startling clarity between then and now. Including bits about immigration, legislating morality, pitting urban vs. rural, Dems vs. Pubs, and a host of other juxtapositions and petty conclusions to be drawn accordingly.
A real eye opener into today’s world as seen through the lens of yesteryear.
