Is the S-Line at risk?

From today's WSJ:

USDOT Secretary's office sent an email to DOT agencies instructing them to review competitively awarded—but not yet fully obligated—projects under Biden that include the words:

—Green infrastructure

—Bike infrastructure

—EV infrastructure

—Any Project purpose to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

DOT wants to cancel these projects.

John Hopkins research is getting slammed. UNC and Duke I'm sure have lawyered up.
Grants and spending bills allocating grants are illegal to remove without due cause.

Not that legality can reign in Trump or Musk.

The Mad Orange King and his evil HR Court Jester.
With relatively few revenue streams to make up for a loss of federal funding, I think UCSF could be hit the hardest of all. That’s not an area where non-tenured faculty and technical staff are likely to have amassed much of a cash reserve. The potential loss of talent could be devastating.

That somehow have the ability to rig millions of different paper ballots, tabulation methods across seven different states?

Are people fucking taking crazy pills? I swear the internet has made people so damn gullible. It is a blight on humanity.

And how do you suppose these people are going to pull off this Great Caper without spilling the beans to their Discord buddies?

I thought they were joking. Are they serious?

Sadly. They appear to be. Or at least conspiracy-curious.
I think you are assigning a level of seriousness that was not present, or at least that I didn't see. I took it as more of an expression of general sentiment -- that the GOP has no qualms at all about cheating or rigging an election -- than a specific, empirical claim about the election that they would defend with seriousness.

I pray you are right. But I am not sure that you are.

There's nothing wrong with being "conspiracy curious." Sometimes conspiracies do happen. For instance, the purchase of Alito and Thomas by billionaires tied to Leonard Leo.

I think the optimal stance is something like "conspiracy skeptic with an open mind and a disciplined approach to evaluating evidence."

Musk is an technological idiot. He knows almost nothing about programming.

And yet you think he could single-handedly rig elections in seven different states -- all of which use a variety of different voting, tabulation, canvassing, and supervision methods? How could you -- presumably a graduate of a top 10 university -- possibly believe something so abjectly stupid?
I dont think the meddled in all 7 states. I think she legit lost NC, GA, NV and AZ.

Something, however, is very suspicious about Pennsylvania. I mean Elon's lil human shield who we already know will parrot whatever Elon says behind closed doors ("you aren't the president") has the video I shared where he's saying "They will never know?" Ok weird in itself, but then Elon being SO confident about PA, camping out there, and then Trump telling Johnson that they had "a little secret" about winning the election?

I would not put it past them at all. Everything Trump does is projection - he's saying the dems still cheated in this one (projection).

And I honestly think they did something nefarious. Maybe it's time the democrats got into the game of hyperbole or whatever the fuck you wanna call it. They play dirty and I think they did whatever the hell they could to win. I mean damn Elon was buying votes for $1M. A little hacking? Wouldnt put it past his trolls at all.

And yeah I graduated from Duke. I also graduated from Ga Tech so I know of the hell that @gtyellowjacket likely experienced at that shithole (but doesn't explain his obtuse tendencies)

You need to take a one-week detox from the internet. Stat.

No I don't. Lately, I have been posting on here much less than you.

Sorry I am not so prim and proper to accuse them of shit. I think we have to get dirty as hell. And I think they did something dirty in PA.

I don't think there was anything suspicious about PA. It voted in 2024 how it voted in 2016. I don't think its numbers were out of line from what you'd expect given the popular vote margin -- if anything, Kamala slightly outperformed in PA what you would expect in an R +1 environment.

Every relevant decision-makers in PA is a Dem. There were like five different court cases that went to PA Supreme Court (where a good friend of mine clerks, so I have some insight as to the behind the scenes there, but cannot share it). Everyone was scrutinizing everything.

If you can point to some suspicious counties, maybe that's one thing. But from what I recall, the geography of votes in PA didn't change much from 16 or 20. It's just that Trump got a bit more everywhere, or maybe framing it differently, Kamala got less because Dems didn't turn out.

The statewide totals are the sum of the county totals. I can't imagine how hacking would have given Trump the margin he needed.

If you assume that Kamala lost AZ, NC, GA and NV, then the chances of Trump winning PA were very high -- at least 70%, I think.

Union rages after Elon Musk shares X post that ‘Hitler didn’t murder millions, public sector workers did’

I'm not saying Elon told Kanye to hold his beer, but that appears to be the path we're on.

So why do you defend everything the administration is doing? Elon is at worst the second most powerful person in the Trump administration (perhaps more powerful than Trump). You're saying now that he's a crazier Kanye. So why would you assume that anything they do is remotely good or has any actual justification connected to American values?

Yep. This is Trumps right hand man and he’s an obvious Nazi sympathizer.

Nothing like this has happened w any Democrats (at least in the past 40 years). The bosiders can’t even bosides this. But they will just sit on their hands and wait to bosides something else and even after this they’ll say both sides are equally bad.

Bosiders have a mental defect whereby they believe that they are inherently fair minded and therefore they can’t take a strong stance for or against anything even in the face of overwhelming evidence.

Not going to lie, article headline got me a little aroused

Tesla warns Trump administration it is ‘exposed’ to retaliatory tariffs

Elon Musk’s electric-car maker says levies could make it costlier to produce vehicles in the US

Elon Musk’s electric-car maker Tesla has warned that President Donald Trump’s trade war could make it a target for retaliatory tariffs against the US and increase the cost of making vehicles in America.
In an unsigned letter addressed to US trade representative Jamieson Greer, Tesla said it “supports” fair trade but warned that US exporters were “exposed to disproportionate impacts when other countries respond to US trade actions”.
“For example, past trade actions by the United States have resulted in immediate reactions by the targeted countries, including increased tariffs on EVs imported into those countries,” the Austin, Texas-based company wrote in the letter dated March 11.

...

One person familiar with the process of sending the letter said: “It’s a polite way to say that the bipolar tariff regime is screwing over Tesla.”
The person added: “It is unsigned because nobody at the company wants to be fired for sending it.”
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
