The second form was threats. Trump and his administration targeted at least 46 individuals, businesses and other entities with threats of investigations or penalties, including freezing federal funds for Democratic-led cities such as New York and Chicago.

The Justice Department hasn't appealed a judge's dismissal of the cases against the former FBI director and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

Kind of. Remember Hunter Biden refused to do a closed door hearing back in December 2023 but said he'd do a public one. But then he sat for a "deposition," which was more like a closed door committee hearing, a couple months later. Then he showed up for the public hearing when the Pubs tried to hold him in contempt for not showing up at the closed door hearing. In other words, it can be done, but it would probably result in another contempt hearing.
