Clearly you and many other will assume the selfish motives are not just probable, but reality. That's fine. The question was asked, I answered with objective actions by Trump. I can't help your subjective view of my objective examples.

No. I object to the motive you gave. You claimed he did it because he cared. There's no proof that he's ever cared about anybody or anything but himself, with the possible exception of his family. Even that is primarily as an extension of his ego and a pretense to virility.

Yep, when I was in the Navy, our Frigate stopped a trawler off the coast to Panama in the Pacific. They had over $200 million worth of cocaine. We took them back to Panama, and flew them to Texas for processing. Never seen anybody so happy to get on a plane.

That is the "motive".

Trump's particular brand of "diplomacy" is to allow Russia to take what they want (Ukraine), China to take what they want (Taiwan), with the understanding they those actors will allow him to do similar in Venezuela.

It's not complicated bc Trump is not complicated-- Surprised Trump has yet to just own up to it with a Leslie Chow gif "quid pro crow, muthafuckas"

From the Geneva Convention:

Article 3

In the case of armed conflict not of an international character occurring in the territory of one of the High Contracting Parties, each party to the conflict shall be bound to apply, as a minimum, the following provisions:

Persons taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, colour, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria.

Maybe it's just me, but dropping another bomb to finish them off, doesn't seem to fit within those parameters.
 
Interdiction policies will never solve our drug problems. They'll just keep prices up enough that it's worth the trouble to smuggle them in. At some point, we need to start rethinking our entire drug policy.

As a matter of curiosity, since the legalization of marijuana in many places and the Farm Bill of 2018 is in effect in, I think, 37 states, how often are people convicted of dealing pot? Has there been a dramatic rise in serious problems related to the use? And more sketchy, has there been any studies about the use of minor drugs that people who once used dealers were randomly exposed to. Sure was the way I was exposed to a lot of things for the first time.

That’s exactly what this shit is. Crap like “kinetic strike” and “warfighter” and “lethality” are all buzz words that are used repeatedly in military education courses and by generals/admirals. Hegseth thinks they make him look smart but they really just make him look like a brainwashed idiot to most people who have served and sat in those classes.
