I'm sure Russia and China are pleased with the US posturing in South America. If the US military is distracted by their drug interdiction war (makes you wonder why drug interdiction requires a carrier group?) they have little time to pay attention to China's increasing tensions with Japan and posturing over Taiwan. Russia continues with terrorist strikes on Ukrainian civilian targets and hopes to grind down the Ukraine defenses in a war of attrition that we are abetting. Trump has already indicated he won't lift a finger to support Taiwan or Ukraine.so this is a perfect opportunity for more international mischief from Russia and China.
