Yep. It went as expected. We could see some pitchers' duels with UNC vs. USCw

Pitching wins in MLB or college baseball championship series.
That will require UNC's pitching staff to bring their A game. Decaro and Lynch have not been close to the level of USC's starters this season on the whole, but both have shown flashes of what we expected from them before the season.

3 PM Friday and 2 PM Saturday. It's going to be absolutely ROASTING for those games, sunny with a high around 90 for both games. I was hoping for an evening game on Saturday so we could try to take the family. But we can't try to sit the kids outside in direct sunlight for 3 hours.

Anyone got a lead on 4 tickets that will be in the shade for that Saturday game? Are there even any seats that will have shade at 2 PM?

USC will be doing little resting. They finish last night pretty late (10pm ish) in College Station. Get home to LA early this morning. Rest of the today is the only time they have to relax. Back to the airport tomorrow to fly across country. One night sleep in hotel and then to the ballpark early Friday morning on a hot day.

Meanwhile our guys have been sleeping in their own beds and recovering since Sunday.

Still gotta win the games but I like how the decks are stacked so far.
Yeah the only thing that could have made it even better is if we would have gotten a noon game on Friday, but 3:00 pm EST is still going to feel early (and hot/humid) for a west coast team that's on short rest with lots of travel. Hope DeCaro can bounce back.

The cost of tickets last weekend and this coming weekend bring me to my annual reminder to buy season baseball tickets. It is the greatest asset protection available in the sporting world. Buy a $200 season ticket that you can donate back game by game and be guaranteed to buy postseason tickets for $15 each that sell for $200+ each. I made enough selling the games that involved ECU but not the Heels to pay for my season tickets and my postseason tickets. I watch the Heels for free.

That is a pretty great deal.

Are there separate tickets for the 2 games on a given day?

I think we may be a little over valued and Ole Miss/USC undervalued. They are RPI 16 and 9 respectively and absolutely legit teams despite not hosting. But whoever wins that first game in Omaha between us, Auburn, USC or Ole Miss is going to be sitting pretty.

Interesting comment by Greg Barnes today Every day we spend at Omaha we lose a little more money. There is no nice payout like March Madness or the playoffs
