1. I respect that the team has shown up to play each of the last 3 weeks. Honestly thought that they were going to roll over and quit after the Clemson game/all of the fallout the following week, so credit to the players and staff for keeping their heads. I thoroughly enjoyed finally watching them get into the win column on Friday.
2. Big picture, we are 3-5 with our only wins being against 1 of the bottom 3 teams in all of FBS, an FCS team, and a perennial ACC basement dweller with no QB. 2 moral victory Ls and 1 win against said basement dweller in the last 3 weeks isn’t nearly enough to change my overall feelings about Belichick. We have a very poorly constructed roster (yes, even factoring in the excuse about the timing of the hire) and no evidence that suggests that the person responsible for putting the roster together will be held accountable for it or magically figure out how to get better at it for this upcoming offseason.
I think at minimum we need to beat Stanford and find a way to get 2 out of 3 against Wake, Duke, and State to make a bowl game for me to have any optimism moving forward.
