"Hey, this legally blind guy who just learned to walk last week just got his first career interception when Criswell threw the ball directly into his gut for some reason."

We always make people look good.

There’s a decent chance I won’t even watch the Moo game next week. I mean watching us suck against BC is kind of whatever but watching us shit the bed against those goat fuckers is intolerable.

I don't care how bad State has been this season - and their collapse against GaTech was hilarious to watch, a defeat in true lolstate style - I don't have any doubt that Doeren will have them well-prepared and fired up to play us next week. He knows his job security depends on regularly beating us, and they'll be ready to play. On the other hand, I have little faith that Mack will have us either prepared to play or fired up. He'll shuffle into the game, stand around looking half-asleep while we lose, and when Doeren insults him and UNC afterwards (after beating us yet again) he'll whine at his press conference about how Doeren should know better and not say mean things about him or his program. And then he'll go take a nap and play golf and enjoy himself for several weeks while his coaching staff supposedly "prepares" us for a lower-tier bowl game that we'll almost certainly lose. He's got a great gig going, so why should he retire and give it up?

In no way is this terribly shocking.

We're a mediocre team with not a great deal of margin for things to go wrong. If things don't go well for us, we can get beat pretty badly.

I'm still laughing at myself for saying this was a 9-3 team at minimum in the preseason. What an idiot I was.

I remember your posts.

They were predicated on just how weak UNC’s schedule is.

You were also saying that it’s Year Six of Mack 2.0. The team should be good enough to go 9-3 at a minimum against this schedule.

That it is going to be 7-5 or 6-6 is horrific.

Absolutely. It was totally based upon the weakness of the schedule. Sad thing is, the schedule turned out even weaker than I thought it would (FSU and NCSU suck) and we are STILL going to be 6-6 or 7-5 at best. Wooof.

State is going to load the box to stop Hampton and blitz like crazy on passing downs. And then we have a shitty bowl game to look forward to…
