Need to extend that lead over the course of Thomas’s career.Nice that this puts us back into the all time lead for national championships in women’s soccer. Against every other program in the country.
(22 Heels - 21 everybody else)
A lot of truth to this. A couple years ago, I expressed concern on IC that our men's sports programs were in decline and that the women were largely having to carry our athletic program. Some posters didn't like that but it's proven mostly prescient. Other than baseball having a nice bounce back season last year, the other men's sports that I care strongly about (football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, tennis) have been on the struggle bus for at least a couple years now. It's going to be difficult to right those ships too until we're able to exit the ACC.UNC, where the men are men and the women are champions
Do you know that the UNC Women’s athletic teams have won the bulk of collegiate championships won by UNC for DECADES?A lot of truth to this. Of course, your statement is also true historically for UNC athletics, which is what I think you were really getting at. Lots of women's soccer and field hockey natties.
True for total UNc national titles in women’s soccer but the graphic is specific to the college Cup (and the other titles total would be changed if we include AIAW).It’s #23. 1981 won the AIAW title……beating UConn in the semis and UCF in the finals.
Yep. It was an especially popular sentiment (like on a T-shirt popular) in ‘94 when the women’s hoops team had just won a national title.A lot of truth to this.
