Heels play again tonight against NC A&T. UNC bounced back from the loss to UCLA with a win over Fairfield. Biggest thing I noticed against Fairfield was Laila Hull getting PT and shooting well. Have been hoping Hull gets a chance to play more. Has a very smooth shooting touch.

In recruiting news, UNC got a huge commitment from Kate Harpring (*****). And yes, Kate is the daughter of Matt Harpring, Georgia Tech legend. Matt was one of those players on the other team that I would have loved to see play for the Tar Heels.

Short update on the Heels. They beat UNC Greensboro tonight by a lot.
The most notable aspects are that Toomey looked great. CT has some nice offensive skills and scored 19 points in 22 minutes.
Several bench players got decent playing time and looked great offensively. Brooks hit all 7 FGs and Henderson was 6-7 FGs. Nice to develop depth in games like this one.
Biggest concern is still Thomas, who did not play again. Must be dealing with an injury but hope BT can get healthy. Heels will need BT as they do lack size.
 
UNC plays at Texas tonight. Longhorns are ranked 2nd in the country and have beaten South Carolina and UCLA, so the Longhorns are dang good (UConn is ranked No. 1 even though Texas has more impressive wins, but that is for another time).
Game tips at 7:00 ET on ESPN2. Not expecting a win at all, just hoping the Heels can keep it relatively close. And continue to develop depth by letting reserves get some meaningful PT against arguably the best team in the country.
Do not think Thomas will be able to play and lack of size will continue to be an issue. Still not sure what the issue is with Thomas, and her privacy must be respected. Lack of transparency does make me wonder how serious the injury/problem is.
Texas does not shoot a lot of 3's so maybe if the Heels can drain some bombs that will help them keep things close. One of those games where even with a loss, UNC can get better.
 
Of course once I can sit down for the second quarter things go south. And I have to listen to Debbie Pack-anelli.
 
At least the Heels made Texas play hard. Horns had to take their game up a few notches. Thomas did play a few minutes but simply does not look like she can move well at all.
Looking forward to LSU curb stomping the Dookies in HIS later tonight.
