University of Idaho murders

I know the guy that did it pleaded guilty a couple of weeks ago to avoid the death penalty. There is a documentary on Prime now about the murders that is supposed to be very good. I am still confused about this, though.

According to CNN, a figure in a mask and dark clothing entered the house around 4 a.m. and stabbed the four students, moving from one room to the next. One roommate, Dylan Mortensen, testified that she saw the figure when investigating noises outside her bedroom door. Though she discussed what she saw with another roommate, Bethany Funke, nobody called 911 until roughly noon on Nov. 13, per court documents.

That is one of the bigger mysteries of the case...why did the surviving roommates not contact anyone until hours and hours after the attack occurred.

If law enforcement/attorneys know the answer to that question, I don't think it's even come close to being made public.

I'm hopeful that after sentencing, some answers to this question and others will be provided.

I don't know if it would have made a difference, but it's still weird to me they didn't call 911 after seeing a strange man in a mask walking through the house, and didn't check on the other roommates after they heard crying and couldn't get them to answer the texts. Maybe they blacked out drunk. Not sure, but curious about it. Also, when they couldn't get them to answer the texts again in the morning, they called friends to come over, and one of the friends called 911. But instead of saying they might be dead and there is blood everywhere they said they just wouldn't wake up.
