The Iranian Parliament is mostly symbolic since the Ayatollah makes decisions as he sees fit but still.

Sorry I have been busy the past couple of days. Haven't been able to read through all of the posts since Sunday night. I'll simply say that if the intel is correct and the strikes only set back Iran's nuclear program for a few months, that is certainly bad news. I stand by my earlier claims that Iran is at its weakest and that the strikes were a good idea if they could have been successful.

“… None of the political experts I spoke with in past days said they thought President Trump planned the Iran bombing for his domestic agenda — that would be really extreme. But most shared Levitsky’s concern that it is in moments of anxiety, when society is apprehensive of external threats, that authoritarians find the most fertile ground for increasing their domestic power — because too often, people willingly give up freedoms in exchange for perceived safety.

Hiroshi Motomura, a UCLA law professor who advised the Obama-Biden transition team on immigration policy, said that trade-off means “the situation with Iran and Trump’s immigration policy are very closely intertwined.”…”

The problem is that the people have to actually feel threatened by external events. I am not sure that that is the case here. This isn’t 9/11.

It may also be because the NYT got pilloried for noting that Hegseth thanked our boys flying B2 bombers when there are also female B2 pilots.
I believe I've read that women pilots can withstand greater g forces when flying.

I’ll take a Duke Democrat over any republican any day forever.

The ironic thing... and maybe this is whats getting to him... is that I'd have WAAAY more in common with Dean Smith than he would. Coach Smith wouldn't give that dude the time of day.

Do you put it past trump et al. to pull a Bibi and ignore October 7th level intel? Or, have intentionally created a system of incompetence? I certainly don't.

Keep in mind, there are still Marines deployed in LA. While the pretext for deployment was utterly ridiculous, the continued deployment is closer to occupation than peacekeeping, as there haven't been protests of any size for weeks.

Trump and Miller want martial law. They want hegemonic violence purely for the sake. No time is easier to dominate than when people perceive an external threat, and subsequently cede their rights for the perception of safety. I genuinely believe this president and his Adolf Eichmann want a terror attack.
Yes, that LA deployment has already cost over $100M. How's that for cost savings, efficiency, and reducing deficits?

His minions are morons or morans which ever you like.

Its pretty easy to spot when he becomes unglued, and I don't think the F word by itself was it. I kinda think his victories are so rare, that when he goes to bed thinking he has a victory (that's all his, that he can brag about) only to wake up the next morning and finds that things are not so simple.........that he loses it.
He looses a lot, or as Ramrouser calls it, winning.

Trump and his cabinet make the US come off as some kind of third world North Korea country.

If he had said that the strike was successful and that a further evaluation was needed to understand the extent of the damage but that he was confident that the strike will ultimately bring Iran to the table, then that’s great.

Instead he pops off and said it was completely destroyed. Stupid but whatever. Just pivot it and say again - what I said above.

Instead he just doubles down that he was right and then his cabinet looks like a clown show by just repeating whatever he said instead of just saying the result will be good but it doesn’t appear it was complete destroyed.

I’m so ready for him to be gone because the BS is too dumb for words
