For those of you who don't know who Chris Hedges is, I post this video as an introduction. He continues to speak out about the genocide in Gaza despite being ignored/blackballed by our legacy media, despite the overwhelming support of Israel by both political parties, despite the never ending stream of jets, weapons and munitions from the US to Israel. This will not end well, and will not reflect well on the US. But then again, given our history (not the sanitized version we are taught in school), what else should we expect.

Not going to get better. The pro Israel lobby spent a ton this cycle and bought Congressmen on both sides of the aisle. Those that bucked Israel got beat with few exceptions.

There are some independent Evangelical churches that should look o the future about that one.
they aren't going to be targeted unfortunately and it is already against US law to support designated terrorist groups.

“This bill is an authoritarian play by Republicans to expand the sweeping powers of the executive branch, to go after political enemies and stifle political dissent,” Rep. Pramila Jayapal, the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said on the House floor ahead of the vote.

bad stuff. these are the kinds of laws that choke off democracy.

Yep. Get ready for about a hundred of these bills designed to make Democrats look bad followed by about a hundred times where the Senate lets it die. This is the third time this bill has come up in some shape or form and has passed the House only to wither in committee in the Senate.

unfortunately, the senate is going to look different soon and this particular bill had plenty of dem support in the house.

i wouldn't be surprised if it passes. giving the treasury dept. the unilateral ability to declare non-profits "terrorist supporting" is insane and pure authoritarian playbook stuff. supporting terrorist organizations is already illegal. they want to use this as a cudgel to silence dissent.
