That really gets me. A clipped ear does not grow back. I'm 72. When I was 7 or 8 and recovered from broken bones within 2 or 3 weeks, my ear was clipped by a barber. The open wound healed. But the clipped out part is still clipped out. It never grew back. The ear just doesn't do that. I have a Darwin's point on one ear and a small clipped out spot on the other.

right. cartilage doesn't heal well or quickly or grow back. we've all seen evander holyfield's ear.

I had my ear pierced the summer after graduating high school. I think it's been at least 25 years since I have worn an earring and you can still see the hole on the outside of my ear where it was pierced.

I still have a split in the cartilage of mine . I had a wrecking bar slip demoing a chimney when the board I was prying on broke and absolutely nailed myself in the head. I can still feel the notch in the middle of the bottom curve.
