Enrolling in 1976 I never saw a National Championship as an undergrad (there were two in 1981). But I returned for graduate school in 1987 and was around until 1999 during which time I saw Tar Heels win 11 in Women's Soccer, 1 in Men's Lax, 4 in Field Hockey, 1 in Women's Basketball, and 1 in Men's Basketball.

81 Women's Soccer [though I think that's the AIAW ship]
 
Grad school 81 & 82.

Teaching night school class 82 M & W. Told class on Wed that if we won Saturday don't even think about coming Monday. Saw a couple students on Franklin St that night. Had a couple lacrosse players for students as well.

basketball in 2009 was a top 5 night of my life. i was young and an idiot but the vibes and excitement around campus were simply unmatched.

96 - Field hockey, women's soccer
97 - field hockey, women's soccer
09 - men's basketball, field hockey, women's soccer
11 - men's soccer
12 - women's soccer
13 - women's tennis, women's lacrosse
15 - women's tennis
 
There have been 50 NCAA national championship teams at UNC since I have been alive. The only one I didn't see is the 1957 basketball championship.
