Gotta say, at first I thought this was related to the Peace Monks, so took me a second to realize it was Thelonious!

Got engaged to my wife at a McCoy Tyner show, so this was awesome to see as well, thanks don

My Mount Rushmore of Jazz pianists:

Thelonious Monk ( born in Rocky Mount ) and had a wonderful eccentric jazz style

Bill Evans ( my absolute favorite )

Dave Brubeck ( My dad's Timeout album was the first jazz I ever heard when I was 14yo )

Ahmad Jamal ( My dad's Live at the Pershing album was another I heard when I was 14yo )

Throw in Oscar Peterson to fill out my starting five :cool:

In my collection I have the complete Fantasy Recordings, the complete Verve Recordings, the Complete Village Vanguard recordings, and The Best of the Early Years 1955-1960 Recordings ( blue in green )

You might say I'm a Bill Evans fan ;)

He was a member of a group that recorded the greatest jazz recording ever...Kind of Blue !
