This is the game plan. When the scared, old, white, cis gendered (faux) Christian men realized that they couldn't win elections any longer due to changing demographics, they realized they would have to cheat, lie, suppress and steal elections. This has been an ongoing effort for decades, spearheaded by the Christofascist element of the far right.

And they employ the same "look over there" tactics they used with the judicial system to keep the cult focused on the democrats, while the pubs rob them blind.
