They got robbed. GT jumped offside late, and line judge missed it. Had they called it, Wake would've won. But the QB also tried for a bomb on that same play, when he had a guy wide open for a shorter pass for the 1st down.

He became my favorite player in the late 80's and early 90's. His extended slump in 1994, followed by his sudden retirement, broke my heart. I thought for sure he'd be one of those few guys to end up with 3,000+ hits and 400+ homers.

I'm a little skeptical that Evans moved to the point over the last 14 games. His assists per game over that stretch was 3.2, which was 0.1 higher than his season average. However, Nique Clifford's assists per game over that stretch was 4.9, which was 0.5 higher than his season average. Still...

I know, but I was just providing a little additional context, and I didn't just pick 5 random games. If we're taking someone at any position from a non-P5 conference, it's not meaningless to look at how they perform against better competition, since he'll see an increase in competition by...

In 5 games against Power 5 conference teams (SEC, Big Ten, Big 12), he shot just .395 from the field, .250 from 3, and averaged just 2.4 assists. Those games mostly came early in the season, and he did get better as this past season went on...but the competition also was generally less stiff.

His defensive rating was 104.1, but CSU's defensive rating was pretty good at 100.5. So doesn't appear to be a plus defender. 0.8 steals is quite low for a combo guard playing 28.1 mpg.
