I don’t think his songs are all great, honestly. And he’s not writing on a level comparable to Dylan or Prine or maybe Todd Snider’s best stuff (or others we could name, as I see it. But I do think Welles is clever and is a sharp observer. The ICE song nails it, in my opinion.

Chicken Wire Gang Boys Band Brothers — super excellent band. And Greg Bell is a major guy.

Not sure why 50s music is down the list for some…. I mean, there’s great stuff from other eras. But, dang, the original decade of rock and roll had some incredible stuff. Check Berry, Johnny Burnette, Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Little Richard….some amazing tunes. Maybe the best rock singer ever —

I agree. But there have been quite a lot of well educated, affluent, professionally successful Republicans who were solidly supportive of Bushes, Reagan, McCain, Romney, etc. and have fallen right in line with Trump — despite the warnings of strong conservatives.

For me, it’s not that voters weren’t moved by Harris and other Dems calling Trump authoritarian. It’s that Republican voters — and many swing voters — didn’t care that so many CONSERVATIVES said Trump was a danger to our democracy. Liz and Dick Cheney. I get that lots of folks, including...
