Totally expected. To be blunt, this is precisely what Trump, Hegseth, Miller, and others in Trump 2.0 were hoping would happen when they sent the Guard and other military and law enforcement to big Democratic-controlled cities: that there would be incidents and violence between the locals and the troops/agents and they could use that as an excuse to send in more forces and strip these cities of more and more local control. And no, I don't believe that Trump or most of his high-ranking officials give a damn about these troops who were shot.

The shooting of the Guardsmen? I certainly wouldn't put it past them, but I can't say that unless some evidence actually comes out to indicate it. I certainly think that tragedies like this is what they were hoping would happen so they could go after Democrats and justify taking even more control of large blue-voting cities and states. Which is exactly what we're already seeing on Fox and the other usual suspect networks (OAN, Newsmax, etc.)
