I don’t recall people complaining about FOX showing Eagles fan Ryan Reynolds in his box multiple times during Sunday’s game.

They have to show something. The average play in the NFL is just over 6 seconds. They spend more time discussing the play and lining up than actually running the play. They already have enough commercials, they need something to fill the air time.

In 1984, I was visiting my parents in England over Christmas break. Dad and I went to a pub to watch the tape-delayed broadcast of the previous Sunday’s NFL games.

In 30 minutes we saw two NFL games. End of the play and the QB is immediately under center and the ball is instantly snapped.

Getting a sip of beer was difficult.

Least relaxing TV Sports viewing ever.
