I also think it might be naive to say this election ends Trump. He still has a lot of power within the Republican money machine, and even if he does not run again, it is possible he will retain kingmaker status for the next election. If Jan 6 could not bury him, it is not clear that being a perpetual election loser would either.

If nothing else, this election season has absolutely confirmed my belief that 2016 was a far more traumatic event for many liberals than is usually known.
