^ these days we have to sweat for months even after the final results are in.
Yeah, if a Republican candidate in any state loses by even 5% or more I now fully expect them to refuse to concede and to loudly announce that the election was somehow rigged against them with rampant vote fraud and to demand recounts and court interventions and all the rest. They all now take their cue from Dear Leader. The only elections that are now legitimate and honest are the ones in which they win. If they lose it's solely because it was stolen from them because, as we all know, Democrats could never win fair elections anywhere.

So now that Coop is in the race for the Senate seat, we don't have to sweat this one, do we? Should be a Lean Dem seat?
I think it’s the best candidate Dems could have for sure. But as I’ve said it will all depend on what people think about the Trump admin next October/November.

DNC chair dismisses Zohran Mamdani’s refusal to condemn ‘intifada’ chants: ‘We are a big tent party’

Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin brushed off concerns from Jewish Democrats on Wednesday about New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani’s refusal to condemn the slogan “globalize the intifada.”

Martin, elected to lead the DNC in February, suggested that his party welcomes users of the chant associated with violent uprisings against Israel, in an interview with PBS.

“You know, there’s no candidate in this party that I agree 100% of the time with, to be honest with you,” Martin said, when asked by “PBS NewsHour” host Amna Nawaz about Mamdani’s repeated defense of the rallying cry for anti-Israel protesters.

California Democrats are charging ahead with an ambitious and potentially expensive plan to squeeze between five and seven more Democratic seats out of their congressional map.

The goal: To offset the Republican redistricting in Texas — and potentially elsewhere — and win the House majority next year.

Predictions are useless this far in advance is correct. Also, 2006 and 2018 were huge waves. We only need to pick up a few seats to regain control. That will almost certainly happen in the mid year.

It's about leadership, or lack thereof, and awful messaging. Schumer is terrible. Jeffries is just a little better - at least he fought back when debating the bbb.

Beshear is much better at messaging.

When I see Newsom, somehow I see Matthew McConaughey...and that would be better, because the Uvalde, Texas native would bring along Woody Harrelson as VP.

Yeah, short of actual revelation of the Epstein files that show Trump with a dead girl or a live boy on footage, I don't actually expect some blue tidal wave or anything like that next year in the midterms. I know it's a veritable political eternity away from being election season but right now it feels like the Democrats are totally rudderless and are entirely reliant upon hoping and praying that the GOP continues to shoot itself in the dick (a safe bet, to be fair). I think the Democrats can win a slim House majority and pick up a Senate seat if they're competent (NC) or two if they're lucky (Maine). Beyond that, hard to see any seismic shift in the current political environment. But I'm just a guy shooting the shit on the internet. I know nothing.
