WI governor's race is not a tossup. The media needs clicks so it's ignoring the national environment. And that's fine, I suppose -- don't report what happens before it does. But it will be a blue lean at the very least.

GOP brand in WI is horrible. You saw that in the most recent Supreme Court races. Couple that with a general vendetta against the GOP in the midterms -- remember, WI is close to Canada and is probably sick and fucking tired of the Canada hate -- and likely voter affiliation and it's not a tossup.

“A chief architect of Project 2025, Paul Dans, is launching a Republican primary challenge to Sen. Lindsey Graham in South Carolina, joining a crowded field that will test the loyalties of President Donald Trump and his MAGA movement in next year’s midterm election.

Dans told The Associated Press the Trump administration’s federal workforce reductions and cuts to federal programs are what he had hoped for in drafting Project 2025. But he said there’s “more work to do,” particularly in the Senate.

“What we’ve done with Project 2025 is really change the game in terms of closing the door on the progressive era,” Dans said in an AP interview. ”If you look at where the chokepoint is, it’s the United States Senate. That’s the headwaters of the swamp.”…”
 
Abbott and TX Pubs are moving ahead with illegal House redistricting in an effort to steal 2026 midterms. Saw an article today (can’t link) saying that Dems in blue states (including Cali and NY), while disgusted by the move, are seriously considering doing the same to counter, saying they have no choice. Pubs need to realize that they are playing with fire and this could backfire on them. While not subject to gerrymandering, Senate Dems represent 40 Million more Americans than Senate Pubs. If every Dem state gerrymandered to the extreme, I think the House would lean Dem.

I don’t think the Dems have much choice but to follow the Pubs’ example. This isn’t George Becker and Johnny Weaver versus Skull Murphy and Brute Bernard. This is about who is going to run our country. Give them a dose of their own medicine.

Agreed. Pubs already have so many structural advantages with the Electoral College, Senate, and red state gerrymandering in the House. Dems can't continue to fight electorally with one arm behind their backs.

George Becker’s submission holds was the “Abdominal Stretch” and Johnny Weaver used “The Johnny Weaver Roll.”

These are the Jim Crockett Promotions wrestlers I was talking about on the Hulk Hogan thread. Along with Rip Hawk and Swede Hanson managed by General Homer Odell, and Skull Murphy and Brute Bernard!

I dunno either. It appeared to me she was looking to be anointed as the Dem candidate, not enter a multi-candidate slog. She hadn’t done the kind of structural work that usually precedes a run for this sort of office … and I don’t think many in California were clamoring for her to run, TBH.
