Given that he has been a Dem rep in a GQP district and has received numerous death threats to him and his family, I can totally understand his decision to step down.

Nancy makes it official.

“…Ms. Pelosi, 85, was the nation’s first and only female House speaker, and she will have represented San Francisco in Congress for 39 years when she leaves office. She has served during an era of seismic change for American society and her own city, from the throes of the AIDS crisis to the legalization of gay marriage, and through the meteoric rise of the tech sector and the nation’s extreme polarization.

… Ms. Pelosi, who likes to use the phrase “resting is rusting,” led the House Democrats for 20 years, eight of which she spent as speaker. She has also been a prodigious fund-raiser and raised more than $1.3 billion for Democratic campaigns, according to her aides….”

I am sorry they need to have mandatory retirement ages in government. And that should be 70.
I don't mind some sort of competency test but making it strictly age based is as biased as any other discriminatory law. I'm 73 and am not the sharpest I've ever been but I'm a lot wiser and aware. There are plenty of us better suited for governing than some asshole in their 50s and 60s or are neither smart, wise, nor aware that you want ease the way for. Count me out on that.

Has anybody considered the idea that the cooled off bromance with Musk has severely limited the ability of MAGA to "influence" election results through hacking?

I'm all for it. Troll the shit out of the troll party and watch the thin skinned babies cry about it. Newsome has done a great job exposing them for the hypocrites they are.

And let's give Karoline Leavitt a taste of her own medicine while we're at it and tell her the Dem party said the Pubs can call them their mom after the spanking they gave them Tuesday night. Screenshot_20251106-081822.png

I get it about age discrimination - though it's always been weird to me that we say a president must be at least 35. I just think age discrimination in employment should cease when you are in medicare AND mandatory social security ages.

I’d be good with a few years older (72? 74?), but yes.
I was thinking that you cant RUN after 70 - so for most they would be out by the ages you listed.
Of course, we can enforce that by stopping our votes for people that can't function well. I love Nancy but good Lord she's not even able to move well.
