I wonder if this guy had been fight the war on wokeness.I am appreciative that he will vote no.
But it is insanely frustrating to me that Pubs can't vote against extremely partisan redistricting plans because they're a blatant violation of fair elections, but they can only seem to do so when they are somehow personally affected by something terrible that other Pubs do.
Yep...always gotta be a personal offense to them. See Marge as an example. None of what Trump does or stands for is offensive to her, but going after her on social media...well thats a bridge too far.I am appreciative that he will vote no.

Another House Republican is calling it quits from Congress
“… Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), one of President Trump's most steadfast allies, said Saturday he will retire from Congress rather than seek reelection in 2026.
… Within hours of Troy Nehls' announcement, his identical twin brother, Trever Nehls, said he plans to run for the seat.…”

To be fair, I have firmly convinced myself that one cannot be a Republican and a Christian. And yet I'll bet a large majority of MAGAs in that district absolutely believe that she's not a Christian. Most of them have convinced themselves that one can't possibly be a Democrat and a Christian. I'm sure they'll look at this and say that she's just faking it or doesn't get what Christianity is really about (hating gays and transgenders, hating immigrants and minorities, regularly doing in private what you preach against in public, etc.)

“… The Trump-backed Van Epps, a West Point graduate and former lieutenant colonel in the Tennessee Army National Guard, is a former commissioner of the Tennessee Department of General Services.
This is a Trump +22 district. If it performs in line with other similar special elections this year, Van Epps will win comfortably but by maybe 10 points …

Tennessee congressional race becomes unlikely test of blue wave
Tennessee's congressional District 7 special election has Democrats dreaming of an unexpected House pickup and Republicans worried about a disaster.www.usatoday.com
“… Even if Behn doesn't win the race ‒ something that would have been unthinkable a few weeks ago ‒ a defeat by single-digits could signal major trouble for Republicans in the 2026 midterms.
… In response to a tighter-than-expected race, the main political action committee linked to Trump, MAGA Inc., has spent more than $1 million to boost Van Epps, with millions more coming from PACs tied to the Club for Growth and other conservative groups. The Democratic-backed House Majority PAC last week dropped a $1 million ad buy in the race.
… Before she was elected to her Nashville state House seat in 2023, Behn burst onto the political scene as a a progressive activist. She was forcibly removed from Tennessee Republican Gov. Bill Lee's office in 2019 when she and others staged a sit-in to demand the resignation of a Republican lawmaker accused of sexual assault. She was also booted from the House chambers for interrupting proceedings.
In her congressional race Behn has leaned into a similar affordability theme that carried Democrats in the off-year elections, highlighting her support to end the state's grocery tax and campaigning on lowering health cost. She has embraced a pragmatic slogan: "feed kids, fix roads, and fund hospitals."…”
