How bad must inflation be if $25 million doesn't even buy a state supreme court judge?

Harlan Crowe paid way less for his.
You sure? He's been paying for a lot of Clarence's stuff for three decades now.

But yeah, the way to do it is buy them when they are already seated. It's cheaper.

A Senate Blockbuster Looms in Texas, as Paxton Prepares to Challenge Cornyn

In an interview, the Texas attorney general attacked Senator John Cornyn as out of touch, and said he had talked to people close to President Trump about an endorsement.

“…
Ken Paxton, the attorney general of Texas, is getting ready to challenge Senator John Cornyn in what could be the nastiest and most expensive Republican Party showdown of the 2026 election.

In an interview on Tuesday in Dallas, Mr. Paxton tiptoed close to declaring himself a candidate, offering up the kind of legislation he would first propose if elected to the Senate — tax cuts — and describing why he felt he could do more in Washington, D.C., than in Texas.

“I just think there’s a lot of things that you could do at the federal level,” Mr. Paxton said. “Trump can use the help and have a senator that actually is supportive and not critical.” …”

This could be an opportunity for dems if they don't blow it again. If Paxton wins, Cornyn pubs could make the difference. If Cornyn wins, fuggedaboutit.

Mallory McMorrow has announced she will run for US Senate (Peters seat retiring D) in 2026.

So if she wins, that would mean the guv, the AG, the SOS, and both Senators would be XX. I wonder if that's happened before. Not sure when Whitmer's term is up, though. If it's 26, then McMorrow and Whitmer wouldn't overlap. I wonder who the Dems will be running for governor.

Whitmer's term is up 1/1/27.
