or Sears making fun of Spanburger during their debate when she finally said "I'm talking" when Sears would interrupt.

I'm not sure who thought that ad would've helped.
yeah, i live in northeastern NC and get absolutely inundated with VA political ads and that one was so, so bad and nonsensical.

I know we have a number of Charlotteans who post here. It was a foregone conclusion that Dems would dominate but it really turned out to be a bloodbath.

My City Council district (district 6) had been represented by a Republican for as I long as I can remember; one of the only 2 Republicans out of 11 council members since 2011. Tariq Bokhari (R) won the last two elections in my district by very slim margins. This time around the Democratic candidate, Kimberly Owens, beat the Republican candidate, Krista Bokhari (Tariq’s wife) by a substantial margin: 13 points.

And in the one district where a Republican ran unopposed (7), he managed to get only 83.8% of the vote vs. 16.2% going to write-ins. That’s not very good for an unopposed race.

I did actually vote for one Republican in the City Council at-large race, where we can vote for up to 4 candidates. He was actually a good candidate despite his party affiliation and I don’t have a lot of positive things to say about the other at-large candidates. Despite him getting a fair amount of bipartisan support, he still couldn’t crack the top 4 to get onto City Council.
