Luka and Reaves both out for awhile.

Tough break for the Lakers, they were looking pretty good.
The injuries nowadays might be the biggest problem w the nba. It’s just non stop and it seems to happen to players whether they are load managing or not.

Back in the 80’s and 90’s I remember guys getting significant injuries that kept them out for months and seasons but not constant hamstrings, elbows, foot, and ab/obligue injuries throughout the season. All I can guess is that it’s mainly from overtraining.

Muscle injuries tend to be due to overuse or under trained. I suspect these guys aren’t undertrained so I think you’re correct.

Years back I had an older friend that worked in sports Medicine
He told me once that when top AAU type guys show up Day 01 as freshmen they already often have a stress related beginnings of arthritis
Its a brutal sport on the lower body

The game is also played at a faster pace by bigger, stronger, and faster men.
Yeah I think it might just be that we're pushing the limits of the sort of force that human muscles are supposed to exert, haha. Same thing as with pitcher injuries in baseball - human elbows and shoulders just aren't supposed to do the things pitchers are doing to them.

The Hornets are currently sitting in the 8 seed in the East with 4 games to play. They theoretically could still get out of the play in to the 6 seed, as they're only 1.5 games behind the Raptors in 6th. But the Hornets' schedule stretch run is brutal - last four games are @MIN, @BOS, vs DET, @NYK. Detroit is locked into the 1 seed so could theoretically be resting guys. The rest currently all have seeding to still play for, though in theory both Boston and the Knicks could be locked in to their seeds by the time those games happen, and therefore also might rest guys.

I think the Hornets will probably consider it a win if they can stay in the 8 seed and dodge the first play-in game. Anything else would be gravy.

Luka is at 64 games and seems to be out for the rest of the regular season. Cade is at 61 games. With the 65 game rule, the 5th spot on 1st team All NBA seems open SGA, Wemby, Jokic, Brown, and ? Also with Luka out it seems likely that Kon and LaMelo will finish 1st and 2nd in made 3s for the year. With Luka out and Lebron 28 assists from 12,000 I'd bet the over on Lebron assists the next few games.

LeBron with 15 assists, Flagg with 45 points, and a triple double by Luke Kennard - what? Solid stat chasing in Dallas tonight.

Flagg now the favorite to win ROY. Kidd is pushing him to win. He took 27 shots and the next Mav to him took 10. So you can win an award based on 2 games.

Steph almost pulled of yet another bit of magic against the Rockets just now, but came up a little short at the buzzer.

Monster numbers in limited time though. 29 in 26 mins, on 11-21, 5-10. Good to have him back.
